Cleaning and Care

Proper maintenance for Schmidlin bathtubs, shower trays, shower areas and washbasins made from glazed titanium steel.

Rinse all glazed titanium steel (enamel) surfaces well with water and dry with a soft, absorbent cloth. Remove minor dirt with a mild detergent (e.g. washing-up liquid or window cleaner). For heavier residue, leave the detergent for a short time to let it have an effect. Rinse well with water and dry with a soft, absorbent towel. Regular drying can help avoid limescale deposits. Limescale deposits can be removed with a lukewarm, 1:1 diluted water/acetic acid solution.

Schmidlin CLEANEFFECT protects the surface from dirt and limescale by giving it a water- and oil-repellent finish. To ensure these Schmidlin glazed titanium steel products treated with Schmidlin CLEANEFFECT retain their water- and stain-repellent properties over the years, see the maintenance instructions below. In addition, please note that microfibre cloths are not suitable for cleaning.

Unsuitable detergents include:

  • highly abrasive detergents and sponges
  • highly acidic detergents (e.g. concentrated citric or acetic acids – diluting instructions must be followed!)
  • products designed for cleaning toilets
  • descaling agents
  • detergents and disinfectants containing chloric or phosphoric acid
  • alkaline detergents or washing machine cleaning agents

When using drain pipe cleaners, follow the usage instructions and pour the liquid directly into the drain. Remove any splashes on the enamel immediately.
